On the night of September 13, 1952, Genevieve Tillbrook, a reclusive heiress from the Olmos Park area of San Antonio,
mysteriously vanished under suspicious circumstances. Genevieve was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Willard Henry Tillbrook, wealthy socialites who made their fortune in the
rock quarry business. Unlike her
parents, Genevieve was known for her quite demeanor and dislike of the social
scene. After returning home from college
on the East Coast, Genevieve married Charles Edward Pennington IV, a
dapper young banker from another wealthy San Antonio family. The wedding became one of the biggest social
events of the year.
Two days shy of their three-month wedding anniversary, during the middle of one of the largest storms of the decade, Genevieve mysteriously vanished. Despite a full police investigation, the cause of her disappearance was never solved.
